I don't know if you've tried this already, but I have had much luck
once where a quick search in the phonebook with a few phone calls
lead me directly to the artist.  The search for Boerder in the whole
USA gave only 31 results (unlike the last name Smith!), several in
Texas actually.  None with the exact first name, but perhaps family
members.
