Conference Announcement and Call for Papers

Icon Ceramics and Glass Group
One-day Spring Forum and Annual Group Meeting
Sackler Room, British Museum, London
28 May 2009

The main theme of this year's conference focuses on the Sir Percival
David Collection of Chinese Ceramics. This outstanding collection
of one thousand seven hundred ceramics, ranging in date from the
3rd-20th century, is considered the most important collection of
Chinese ceramics outside mainland China and Taiwan. It includes many
items of Imperial quality. From April 2009 this collection will be
newly displayed in a purpose-built gallery at the British Museum.
While focusing on the conservation, display and access of this
collection we would also invite papers on all aspects of
conservation of ceramics and glass.

Abstract submissions should include the following: the title of the
presentation; the names of all contributors; mailing address,
telephone number, and e-mail of the contact person. Abstracts
should be about 300 words and will be published as part of the
conference proceedings. Please contact Julia Barton if you have an
idea for a presentation you wish to discuss.

Deadline for abstracts: 9 January 2009.
