are looking for Conservators and/or Collections Management
Assistants to assist with the work of preparing objects for the
opening of our new Museum of Liverpool.

Conservators, with a recognised Conservation qualification, or an
equivalent level of training will be relied upon to conserve and
mount exhibits. The ability to keep thorough written and
photographic records of conservation work will also be essential.
You may also be asked to give opinions and advice to other
conservation and curatorial staff on the display, handling,
cleaning, and transportation of items.

Collections Management Assistants, with skills or training relevant
to metalwork or textiles, will perform in a support capacity,
helping with trained conservators with recordkeeping, photography,
filing, packing and basic practical work. This experience would form
an ideal preparation if you are considering going on to study
conservation.

All contracts are for three months: 2 January 2009 until 31 March
2009.
