Merovingian combs

From: Vincent Cattersel <vincent.cattersel<-a>

I have to treat several Merovingian combs which all should be
consolidated and glued back to together. The materials are bone,
horn and ivory. I was thinking on using Plexigum PQ611 (iso-butyl
methacrylate) dissolved in Shellsol T (synthetical isoparaffinic
hydrocarbon) as a consolidant. For the gluing I want to use a
neutral PVA-glue which will be isolated from the original material
by a layer of Plexigum PQ611.

I'm wondering if someone can share his/her comment about this
proposal or his/her experience on the consolidation and gluing of
these materials.
