Subject: Jennifer Giaccai appointed conservation scientist at Smithsonian Museum Conservation Institute (MCI)
Jennifer Giaccai has been hired as Conservation Scientist at the Smithsonian's Museum Conservation Institute. Previously Jennifer was Conservation Scientist at the Walters Art where she was the first scientist to work in the Division of Conservation and Technical Research since 1937. Prior to working at the Walters, she was Assistant Conservation Scientist in the Smithsonian's Freer Gallery of Art Technical Laboratory where she specialized in the examination of East Asian painting materials. She has degrees in Materials Science and Chemistry from the Johns Hopkins University and Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
