Contract Type: Fixed term for one year, Full time

The Tate Collection and Programme Services division plays the lead
role within Tate in developing, researching and caring for the
Collection. The Conservation Department, which is based in this
division, is responsible for the technical investigation,
conservation and restoration of the Collection. The Department
provides specialist conservation services for all aspects of Tate's
activities including: preparation of works for display, transfer or
loan; maintenance of works in store; publications and education.

We currently have two Technician vacancies, based in our
Conservation Workshop at Southwark, who will provide technical and
specialist support to our Senior Technicians and Tate staff on all
aspects of conservation and restoration of the collection.  To join
us you need a City and Guilds qualification in carpentry and joinery
or cabinet making or equivalent. You will have also had experience
of using and maintaining hand and power tools, individual wood and
metalworking machinery and other specialised workshop equipment.
Your commitment to providing high standards of work with a keen eye
for detail and ability to work well as part of a team are also
essential.
