8th International Conference on Lasers in the Conservation of
    Artworks
Sibiu, Romania
September 21-25, 2009

The main organizer of the event is the National Institute of
Research and Development for Optoelectronics INOE 2000 in Bucharest.

The biennial event will gather scientists, conservators, restorers,
architects, companies, decision-makers, professors and students
involved in projects on laser equipment and its applications to
artwork conservation.

The organizers expect a large number of contributions and
participants from all over the world, since the application of
lasers in conservation has gained massively field in the last years
through their application to an increasing number of historic
monuments. Presumably, the event will bring together more than 300
attendees.

Furthermore, the organizers plan to have an exhibition and a trade
show by suppliers and service providers during the conference.

The papers selected for the LACONA 8 conference will be published
after the regular peer-reviewing process in the conference
proceedings.

LACONA 8 will include invited plenary lectures as well as oral and
poster presentations on the following topics:

    Laser cleaning of monuments and artifacts - innovations, case
    studies, evaluations

    Laser based techniques for analysis and diagnostics

    Imaging, 3D documentation and modeling

    Optoelectronic devices and sensors

    Laser for monitoring of environmental conditions

    Projects, Networks, Education

    Safety and health aspects.

February 1, 2009 is the deadline for abstract submission.
