        Duties: Under the direction of the Assistant Director,
        Preservation: Plan, manage and report on preservation
        activities that include conservation treatment of records,
        technical investigations, research, testing of materials,
        and scientific analysis; Supervise, coach and assist the
        development of professional preservation staff; Assist in
        the development of preservation standards, specifications,
        procedures, and guidelines relevant to the national archival
        collection; Provide support, training and advice to Archives
        staff on preservation policies, practices, treatments and
        testing methods; Participate in the preparation of technical
        publications, educational and training materials; Provide
        advice to external clients relevant to storage and
        preservation of Commonwealth records; Comply with current
        NAA policies and principles such as those that relate to
        behaviour in the workplace and use of Commonwealth resources

        Eligibility: To be eligible for engagement an applicant
        would normally be an Australian Citizen and the successful
        applicant will be required to undertake a security
        assessment.

        Notes: The preferred method for receiving applications for

        require physical fitness--more specifically the capacity to

        Duties: As member of a team you will be required to:- Carry
        out, as directed, conservation treatments and other measures
        to ensure the appropriate preservation of Commonwealth
        records in a range of formats, using established techniques
        and reporting as necessary; Assist in research and analysis,
        educational and administrative activities supporting
        preservation program objectives; Liaise with staff of the
        Archives and other Commonwealth agencies on the treatment of
        records; Assist with the laboratory, workshop and office
        operations associated with the preservation function,
        maintain records of treatments and use Archives systems as
        required; Prioritise simple treatments and tasks and monitor
        workflow; and comply with current NAA policies and
        principles such as those that relate to behaviour in the
        workplace and use of Commonwealth resources
