Archaeological Field Conservator
Kaman-Kalehoyuk excavation, Turkey

The Kaman-Kalehoyuk archaeological excavation in Central Turkey is
seeking a Field Conservator for 8 weeks in the summer of 2009. The
tentative dates are July 15 - Sept. 9, 2009, possibly subject to
minor alteration. The excavation is run by the Japanese Institute of
Anatolian Archaeology that is sponsored by the Middle Eastern
Culture Center in Japan (MECCJ), a research institute based in
Tokyo.

The Field Conservator will manage an active conservation program
including the supervision of interns and laboratory research
projects, processing of artifacts, digital imaging, database
documentation, and artifact condition surveys. Please keep in mind
that we may be moving into our new Conservation Laboratory during
the summer of 2009. Please see the IIC Copenhagen Congress
postprints (1996) for more information about the pre-existing
laboratory.

Applicants must have fluent English, a degree in conservation or the
equivalent, and a minimum of two seasons experience on an
archaeological excavation. Interested applicants should contact
Alice Boccia Paterakis. Information on salary and working conditions
will be provided. Please send your Curriculum Vitae and three
contacts for references by November 1, 2008, preferably as
attachments to email.
