United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is seeking to hire a
Lead Museum Specialist (Assistant Conservator).  The primary focus
of this position is the Exhibitions Collections Care program.  The
incumbent will perform various duties for the minor treatment and
preparation of a wide variety of artifacts slated for exhibition as
well as in situ treatment of artifacts already on exhibition.
Responsibilities also include monitoring for micro and macro
environments and developing best methods for monitoring that do not
intrude on overall exhibit design; developing enclosures for
artifacts in storage; and housings for items going out on loan.  The
incumbent must have an interest in working with museum collections
of all types: paper-based, textile, and three-dimensional.
