Subject: A death
Benjamin Cohen, a valued participant in our discussions for many years, died on June 17, 2008 following an extremely brief illness. He was privileged to spend most of the last year of his life doing the work he loved, touring the United States restoring Torah scrolls and teaching the basics of scribal arts to children. In May he sought treatment for a nagging cough and was diagnosed with terminal lung and brain cancer; five weeks later he died, peacefully, at home. He is survived by his wife Althea, three children, and numerous students.
