Vacuum cleaners

Our administration has agreed to purchase a vacuum cleaner for our
historic site. I'm seeking a recommendation for a canister vacuum
with a HEPA filter for under $500.  If the cost is over $500 we have
to get 3 bids.

Has anyone recently purchased a vacuum cleaner and have  comments
about various models? Does anyone have any suggestions? There are no
floor coverings at our site--Just wood and tile floors.
