The Museum at Central School and the Conrad Mansion Museum in
Kalispell, Montana are co-sponsoring a one day workshop titled

Dress Your Mannequins for Success: Exhibit Mounting and Mannequins
    for Historic Costumes
Saturday, September 27, 2008
10am - 4pm

Textile Conservator, Teresa Knutson of Rocky Mountain Textile
Conservation will conduct the workshop.

Participants in this workshop will learn the basics of supporting
and mounting costumes for exhibition, in addition to a variety of
mounting methods and mannequins for costumes, from slant boards and
T-shaped forms to custom-made forms and commercial mannequins.
Non-intrusive or passive mounting methods that require little
interference with the artifact and can easily be created by museum
staff and volunteers will be stressed. There will be an illustrated
lecture, handouts, samples of mounts and mannequins, and several
types of mannequins will be dressed.

The cost for the workshop is $55 ($40 for Central School and Conrad
Mansion museum members) and will include lunch. In addition, tours
of both museums will be available for participants at no charge.
There is a class size limit of 25 so be certain to register early.

request additional information.

The deadline for registration is September 15, 2008.
