Book on conservation of plastics

Because questions concerning the degradation and conservation of
plastics are posted regularly on the Cons DistList, readers may be
interested in a new book written by Yvonne Shashoua with the title
Conservation of Plastics-materials science, degradation and
preservation and published in Butterworth's Black Series.

The historical development of plastics, technology,  physical and
chemical properties, identification, degradation, inhibitive and
interventive conservation are collected within a single volume.
Photographs of flame tests used for simple identification, an atlas
of  degradation types as well as tables of properties and reference
infrared spectra will assist with the complexities of identifying
plastics and defining their deterioration patterns.  More
