Objects Conservator, Full time Objects Conservator, Part time short term contract (immediate start) Sydney Artefacts Conservation Sydney Artefacts Conservation (SAC) has two vacancies for Objects conservators; a full time position and a part time short term contract to work in our private conservation practice based in Sydney. Applicants must be experienced in remedial and preventive conservation theory and practice relating to a wide range of materials and be able to work on large outdoor monuments. The conservator will be based at the Sydney Artefacts Conservation premises in Newtown. Some travel will be necessary to undertake work outside the Sydney area. The successful applicant will have tertiary qualifications in the conservation of cultural material/or equivalent experience and be highly motivated. Demonstrated skills in project management, time management, team-based and self-directed work is essential. Good communication skills (verbal and written) are essential. Must have a current work visa or be eligible to work in Australia. A current drivers licence is essential. Sydney Artefacts Conservation has a well established reputation as one of Australia's leading conservation specialists, providing services for the preservation of heritage monuments and artefacts. Objects treated include large outdoor monuments and sculpture, fountains, archaeological and architectural objects, as well as small individual items. Salary commensurate with experience.
