Archaeological, object, easel painting and works of art on paper conservators Sharjah Museums Short and long term conservation contracts Sharjah Museums Department (SMD) is developing and expanding its current museum service. Museums include archaeology, fine and Islamic arts and calligraphy, local heritage and natural history. Conservators are required for new museums and redevelopment projects, collection surveys, training, and the development of studios and workshops. Initially archaeological, object, easel painting and works of art on paper conservators are required. Essential requirements include Arabic as a first language with good written and spoken English, ability to work in a multicultural organisation, flexibility, ability to work in a team an independently and good communication skills working in a very busy department. SMD aims to prepare Emiratis in aspects of care of collections and conservation with the possibility that some may continue their training abroad.
