The conservation unit based at  Langeland's Museum, Denmark seeks
applicants for a permanent position as paper conservator.

The unit services 14 regional museums with mixed collections and
employ 3 full time conservators specialising in textile, social
history, and archaeological conservation. A permanent post for paper
conservator is now being created. The unit employ  additional staff
on fixed term projects.

A recognised qualification in paper conservation or equivalent such
as training in a conservation studio and practical experience is
required.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed
individual, who can work independently and to deadlines, is keen to
develop existing skills and knowledge as well as acquiring new ones.
It is also essential that the candidate is interested in working
with a range of different museum professional, and must therefore
possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills in addition
to good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities include examination, photographic and written
documentation and remedial conservation of a range of paper based
objects. Preparation of objects for exhibition, including designing
and making mounts. Taking part in general conservation activities
such as environmental monitoring, climate and pest control,
collection surveys and  rehousing, exhibition design, developing and
running workshops for other museum professionals.
