The Kroller-Muller Museum has an international reputation as a
museum of modern and contemporary art, and is located in beautiful
natural surroundings at De Hoge Veluwe National Park. It has a staff
of approximately 100.

The museum has two departments: Operations and Collection and
Presentation. The conservators fall under the Collection and
Presentation Department. The Sculpture Conservator, in cooperation
with the Sculpture and Modern Art Conservator, provides expertise in
this area within the museum.

The Kroller-Muller Museum is seeking to fill the following position
in its Collection and Presentation Department as from 1 October
2008:

    1 Sculpture Conservator (m/f), 18 hours/week

We are offering a one-year contract of employment, which may be
extended to a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory
performance. Working days and times will be determined in
consultation with the Sculpture and Modern Art Conservator.

Responsibilities:

    conservation, restoration, and documentation
    condition-checking and conservation activities for loans
    participation in internal conservation-staff meetings
    participation in exhibition projects
    advising caretakers about collection in store
    coordinating activities with the Sculpture and Modern Art
        Conservator
    (where applicable) supervising non-resident conservators
    (where applicable) supervising trainees
    managing own work area.

Desired profile: an academic degree in conservation/restoration
(from the SRAL, OR/ICN, or a comparable institution outside the
Netherlands) wide-ranging experience with the work of a conservator
in a museum setting affinity with the museum's area of emphasis
experience working in an interdisciplinary context good oral and
written command of Dutch and English good communication skills.

The terms of employment are described in the collective agreement
for autonomous state museums (CAO Verzelfstandigde Rijksmusea).

Salary: salary scale 10, ORBA job evaluation system
