AIC response to Midwest floods

AIC has been in contact with several collecting institutions
affected by the floods in the Midwest, and is coordinating responses
with members of the Heritage Emergency National Task Force.  The AIC
Collections Emergency Response Team (AIC-CERT) has been assisting on
the ground, by phone, and via email.  FAIC has funds for deployment
of AIC-CERT members from the Institute of Museum and Library
Services (IMLS) and the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.

Collection institutions in need of help with assessment, organizing
response or recovery efforts, or other services or advice can
contact AIC-CERT by calling the AIC-CERT hotline:  202-661-8068.

Information and actions are evolving too quickly to summarize here
in the DistList, but a website to collect and share current
information has been established by Heritage Preservation at:
