Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in Painting or Paper Conservation The Cleveland Museum of Art The Cleveland Museum of Art <URL:http://www.clevelandart.org> is offering an advanced fellowship in either painting or paper conservation beginning September 2008. The fellowship will be for one year with the possibility for renewal up to three years. The fellow's work will focus on the Museum's permanent collection and as such s/he will work closely with the Museum's conservation and curatorial staffs. The fellow will have the opportunity to carry out examinations and treatments on a variety of materials within his/her specialty, perform courier responsibilities, participate in a wide range of conservation activities and pursue a publishable research project. Candidates must be a graduate of a recognized conservation training program with at least one year of additional practical experience beyond graduation. An example of research and writing ability as well as English language skills are required. The fellows will receive an annual stipend of $30,000, with an additional $3,000 allowance for travel and research. Compensation will include the Museum's health benefits and vacation.
