Photograph Conservator Fotorestauratie Atelier C. C. von Waldthausen The Fotorestauratie Atelier (FRA) <URL:http://www.fotoconservering.nl> seeks a full-time Photograph Conservator for a one-year, term appointment. This term may be extended. The Atelier is a Conservation Laboratory in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, that provides conservation services in digitization, preservation, treatment and consultancy surrounding photograph collections. The FRA works for museums, archives and libraries throughout the Netherlands and is also active in research and teaching. The photograph Conservator will perform treatment on 19th, 20th and Contemporary photographs and assist with research, training and other activities taking place in the Atelier or elsewhere in The Netherlands. Applicants must have a Master's degree (M.A. or M.S.) from a recognized graduate conservation training program specializing in photograph conservation. Post-training experience and the willingness to learn Dutch is highly desirable. The Conservator must be able to develop and implement treatments independently, as well as work as part of a team including photographers, freelance conservators and interns. Excellent interpersonal skills are required, as well as motivation and enthusiasm. Experience with digital photography, Microsoft Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro and Adobe Photoshop is highly valued. All work shall be performed in accordance with the Guidelines for Practice of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) and the Code of Ethics from the AIC and The European Confederation of Conservators' Organisations (E.C.C.O.)
