Indigo Artes Textiles
Classes beginning May 26 2008

Indigo Artes Textiles offers classes and workshops in English and
Spanish in weaving, natural dye and other textile arts from 1 day to
2 weeks each. Study traditional and contemporary textile arts in a
beautiful Spanish colonial hacienda, surrounded by its gardens, 5
minutes by free shuttle from the Antigua central square.

    Traditional Backstrap Weaving
    From a "Taste" of the traditional backstrap loom to advanced
    backstrap loom weaving with traditional brocade figures

    Color Magic
    Natural dyeing with indigo, cochineal, turmeric and logwood,
    from introductory to advanced classes.

    Floor Loom Weaving
    Beginning, intermediate and advanced courses cover warping,
    samplers, pattern reading, and different weaves including
    twills, honeycomb, "florecitas," brocade figures, double weave,
    gauze weave, borders, and more experimental and individually
    creative work.
