Rubber tires

I am preparing a Hercules tricycle for display and it has three
badly degraded rubber tyres, the rubber has crystallized and is
separating from the fabric casing. It is extremely friable and hard.
I am looking at proposals to consolidate the tyres to facilitate the
display of the tricycle. Has anybody any recommendations/previous
experience of adhesives to use or even less intrusive methods to aid
display?
