La Cantoria Restoration School (since 1989) offers the following
workshops for Summer 2008 (July-September)

2-4 weeks introductory courses to conservation techniques are mainly
based on practical experience and during the two or four weeks of
workshops, participants will have the opportunity to experience
basic techniques involved in the chosen field of conservation among
ceramics, woods or paintings.

These courses may represent a precious experience and cultural
enrichment for both specialist of different field of conservation
and restoration, and university students of conservation of art and
history of art with the opportunity  to have practical experience on
authentic ancient material.

1 week Approaching restoration of ceramics:

    Three demonstrative and practical lessons, four hours each, in
    our laboratory to approach ceramic restoration techniques and a
    guided visit to a related museum in Florence (Archaeological
    Museum, Porcelain Museum etc).

2 weeks Artistic Workshops:

    Less intensive artistic workshops of a duration of 1-2 weeks in
    artistic field related with conservation: fresco and mosaic
    techniques, wood gilding, oil painting, and others.
