UKP24,659 to UKP29,640 pa

The Victoria and Albert Museum is seeking a full-time conservator
with wide experience and knowledge of all aspects of the
conservation of metalwork. The work will include the assessment and
technical examination of objects, practical interventive and
preventive conservation.

You should have a recognised qualification in conservation of
metalwork, with some post qualification experience of conserving
base and precious metal objects. You will possess a sound knowledge
of conservation techniques including preventive methods, along with
an understanding of the materials and techniques used on historic
and contemporary metal objects. Enthusiasm, versatility, good
interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and
as part of a team are all essential requirements. You should also be
capable of achieving an excellent standard of work and meeting
deadlines. Computer literacy, previous experience of working in a
museum and knowledge of the V&A and its collection would be
desirable.
