Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco
May 29-30 2008 and June 2-3, 2008
8:30 am - 5:30 pm

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco presents Mastering Filling
and Inpainting of Objects, a multi-disciplinary master class for
advanced objects conservators. The four-day intensive course is
tailored for conservators wishing to improve their skills and
mastery of filling and inpainting techniques through a combination
of lecture, discussion and practical studio/laboratory sessions.
Specialists in objects conservation will survey compensation
materials and techniques for a wide spectrum of artistic, historic,
ethnographic and archaeological artifacts.

The course instructors are James Bernstein, Conservator of Paintings
and Mixed Media, San Francisco, CA and Meg Loew Craft, Senior
Objects Conservator, Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, MD.

The course will be hosted by the de Young Museum, Objects
Conservation Laboratory Golden Gate Park, 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden
Drive, San Francisco, CA 94118.

We are seeking funding in the expectation of keeping the cost of the
course as reasonable as possible. The actual costs are about $1,100
per person but we are providing the workshop at $650 for AIC members
and $900 for non-AIC members.
