Workshop: Mastering Filling and Inpainting for Objects Conservation Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco May 29-30 2008 and June 2-3, 2008 8:30 am - 5:30 pm The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco presents Mastering Filling and Inpainting of Objects, a multi-disciplinary master class for advanced objects conservators. The four-day intensive course is tailored for conservators wishing to improve their skills and mastery of filling and inpainting techniques through a combination of lecture, discussion and practical studio/laboratory sessions. Specialists in objects conservation will survey compensation materials and techniques for a wide spectrum of artistic, historic, ethnographic and archaeological artifacts. The course instructors are James Bernstein, Conservator of Paintings and Mixed Media, San Francisco, CA and Meg Loew Craft, Senior Objects Conservator, Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, MD. The course will be hosted by the de Young Museum, Objects Conservation Laboratory Golden Gate Park, 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive, San Francisco, CA 94118. We are seeking funding in the expectation of keeping the cost of the course as reasonable as possible.
