"Access all Areas" a seminar on new display materials/ techniques
and providing access to collections.November 2008A joint ICON
Archaeology and Care of Collections Group seminar in partnership
with Renaissance East of England Proposals are invited for
contributions to a seminar on use of innovative display materials
and techniques in providing access to collections, with an emphasis
on archaeological material. Have you been involved in a project to
display fragile and difficult materials? Or have you been working
with designers on new displays?

We would be interested in hearing about projects that fit in with
the following main themes

    Environmental buffering and control
    Air filtration
    Use of materials for case construction
    Linings and mounts
    Lighting

We would welcome an opportunity to highlight projects from smaller
organisations or individuals with an emphasis on practical cost
effective solutions. Abstracts should be 200 words, and in English.
The presenting author must also be clearly indicated. The final talk
will be 25 minutes and published via ICON's website.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 14 April 2008.
