Subject: Storing champagne bottles
Would anyone be able to recommend tips for storing an unopened bottle of champagne in an artifact collection? Our curators have voiced a strong desire not to empty the liquid from the bottle, so the challenge is to store the unopened bottle safely in the collection. Would orienting the bottle in a specific way help prevent accidental pressurized uncorking or leaks? Would it be best to design a housing contain that is upright to keep the cork dry, or is it advisable to orient the bottle sideways to keep the cork moist?
