Subject: Survey on audiovisual collections
Participation Needed for Research Project: "Defining AV Preservation Professionals in Academic Libraries and Archives" I am conducting a research project on defining the role of staff in academic libraries and archives whose primary responsibilities are the preservation and access issues specific to audiovisual collections--specifically moving images and sound in both analog and digital formats. The goals of the survey are to capture 1) the position titles that define this type of work, 2) where these positions "live and work" within academic library and archive organizations, 3) how people gain the skills they need to do this work and, 4) very broadly, how people in these positions divide their time between analog and digital media. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete the 12 multiple-choice question survey. The survey results will be disseminated at a later date. The survey can be found at: <URL:http://www.surveymonkey.com/ s.aspx?sm=Nc1KJ_2bzQDuK4CjtULAle_2bw_3d_3d> **** Moderator's comments: The above URL has been wrapped for email. There should be no newline. The survey will close on March 17, 2008 at 12 noon. Your participation is greatly appreciated, Please feel free to contact me off list if you have any questions.
