Book conservator
Diocesan Library of Derry and Raphoe project
Derry, Northern Ireland

An experienced book conservator is required to lead a team to
conserve the historic Diocesan Library of Derry and Raphoe.

The University of Ulster and the collection's owners, the Church of
Ireland Diocese of Derry and Raphoe, have obtained funding to
establish a conservation team in the historic city of Derry,
Northern Ireland, to conserve a learned 18th century library of some
5,600 books, in all subjects, all in original bindings, from 1480 -
1900.

This exciting project is due to last three and a half years, after
which it is hoped the team, or some of them, will continue to
operate on other collections in the region.
