Subject: Photographs of earthquake damage sought
The Center for Book Conservation in Arles (Southern France) is looking for photographs (preferably in the public domain) from libraries, archives or museum which encountered problems and/or damage following weak earthquakes or tremors, but without major damage to the buildings (eg total destruction). The Center is planning to create informational posters and panels for elected officials and professionals in the Provence region where minor earthquakes are frequent. Luckily no serious earthquakes have occurred for the last hundred years, but the disaster planning commissions have, as a result, pretty much ignored the problem. The posters would be created in the context of the European Heritage Disaster Planning program called Noe.
