The Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is a museum with world class
collections. The Boijmans manages top collections in the field of
old art, prints and drawings, modern and contemporary art, arts and
crafts and design, more than 125,000 objects in total. The
collection of works on paper is the most extensive of all, and its
quality is on an international level. In addition to the permanent
presentation, the museum annually organizes approx. 25 temporary
exhibitions, and many varied activities aimed at the public. The
museum draws around 200,000 visitors a year. More than 175 staff
members and volunteers (89 FTE's and approx. 20 volunteer workers)
work at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Job description: Paper Restorer Taking care of the restoration and
preservation of works on paper, in such a way that these are put
into or kept in the required condition. This mainly involves:

-    drawing up treatment plans for restoration, based on technical
and art-historical information about the objects;

-    carrying out restorations;

-    taking care of the restoration report, in which the restoration
is documented, and the entire process is described, including the
choices made;

-    drawing up plans in the area of active and passive preservation
of the collection;

-    keeping up to date about methods and techniques in the field of
physical management of the collection, and providing pertinent
information and advice about their implementation within the
organization;

-    coordinating and supporting farmed out restoration and
preservation.

Job Specifications

    *   experience in the field of paper restoration and the
        management of paper collections
    *   the careful handling of works of art
    *   knowledge about automated documentation systems
    *   communicative and organizational skills
    *   command of the Dutch language and the English language
    *   demonstrable affinity with the museum's collection

We offer a dynamic working environment and a challenging job. The
salary on appointment is Euro 3247 maximum gross per month (scale 9)
for a full working week, not including vacation pay and end-of-year
bonus. Pay classification is dependent on age, training and
