Summer Conservation Internship 2007 Missouri Historical Society, St. Louis, MO The Missouri Historical Society is seeking applications from graduate-level conservation students for the Williams summer internship in the Department of Conservation. The internship period is eight (8) weeks. The stipend is $3,000 for eight weeks, approximately 35 hours per week. The conservation intern will assist the Objects Conservator in preparing a range of objects for upcoming exhibitions including an exhibit on the Disability Movement, an exhibit on Colonial French, Spanish, and English presence in St. Louis, and an exhibit of the Katherine Dunham dance and theater collection. Conservation projects will include surveying objects slated for display, preparing exhibit recommendations, and conducting conservation treatments. The internship is open to students who have yet to decide on an area of specialization, and also to those who may have established an area of interest in general objects or ethnographic conservation. This is a perfect opportunity for conservation students to gain excellent practical experience in a fast-paced and intense history museum setting. Start and completion dates are flexible.
