Valence House Museum is a small local history museum based in East
London located in one of the few remaining manor houses in the area.
In order to progress our care of collections programme we are
looking to fill a three months fixed term contract. This post would
suit a recently graduated student who is interested in gaining some
practical care of collections experience. You will have a degree in
conservation or museum studies, ideally with some experience of
working in a museum or historic house. You will have a working
knowledge of documentation, condition report writing, data entry and
data checking as well as experience in handling and packing objects
for long term preservation. You must be able to work effectively,
both independently and as part of a small team, and possess good
communication and ICT skills.
