Salary: UKP22,820 to UKP27,892 pa

The Imperial War Museum is seeking to appoint a Care Projects
Manager to develop policies, procedures and strategies to improve
the care of the collection by upgrading storage facilities.  The
post holder will also be responsible for the development and
implementation of a programme of projects to achieve improvements in
collections care.

Responsibilities will include:

    Working with the Collections Care Manager, to develop and
    implement a rolling five year Storage Strategy to achieve
    improvements in collections storage.

    Developing, monitoring and delivering projects as part of the
    Storage Strategy, covering storage enclosures, storage furniture
    and storage spaces, in accordance with IWM project management
    methodologies.

    Developing and monitoring spending budgets and producing
    quarterly management reports on project progress.

    Managing contracts for moving the Collection, installation of
    new furniture, as necessary to facilitate storage projects.

    Working with stakeholders, establish policies and procedures for
    the handling, protection, packing and transport of items between
    the museum's sites and in museum transport to external
    locations.

    Working with the Collections Care Manager and departmental
    staff, to produce annual funding bids for storage projects, as
    part of the strategy, including impact analysis

The post holder will be required to travel to all IWM branches
including travel between London and Duxford (where the majority of
IWM collections are held) on a weekly basis.

We are seeking a candidate with either a Postgraduate qualification
in Museum Studies or a Collections Care qualification and two years'
experience of working in a museum, archive or library storage
environment. The candidate will have experience of planning and
delivering a project plus the ability to build good working
relationships swiftly with a broad range of people.
