Paintings Conservator
6 months fixed term
Part-time, 2 days per week
Salary: up to UKP24,375 pa (full time equivalent)

We have an opportunity for an experienced Paintings Conservator to
develop and update their professional experience working with Tate's
internationally recognised team of experts.  You will be providing
additional support to Tate's loan programmes.  For paintings
requested for display at non-Tate sites, this role will include
condition checking, documentation, providing recommendations for
treatment, and undertaking treatments where necessary. The post is
part-time, 2 days per week to start in January 2007 for six months.

You will need to hold a recognised qualification, or equivalent
experience, in the conservation of easel paintings.  In addition to
a minimum of three years' experience you will have demonstrable
organisational skills to be able to plan your workload to meet
deadlines.  Able to work independently as well as part of a team,
you will have excellent communication skills both written and
verbal. Basic word processing and IT skills will also be necessary.
