Lighting

Museum Victoria is undertaking a review of its policy regarding
lighting and display duration.  Museum Victoria has objects from
three main collecting disciplines--natural science, indigenous
cultures and history and technology--so the range of materials in
the collection is large.  While there seems to be a lot of
information regarding the aesthetic changes that light deterioration
brings, there is very little literature regarding the structural
changes that might also be occurring.  We are seeking information
from anyone who has carried out investigations into the structural
deterioration caused by light on a variety of materials.
