Washington Conservation Guild second meeting of the 2006/2007 season Please join us Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the US Capitol, Room HC-5 "Conservation on the Hill 2004-2006" Two Talks on the Treatment and Analytical Findings for Eight Frames in the Rotunda by William Lewin and Davida Kovner Sixteen Benches from the House Chambers by Bruce Schuettinger Lewin and Kovner will discuss their onsite treatment of the frames on the monumental paintings in the Rotunda. Their analytical findings identify the original gilding pattern and one of the original gilders. Bruce Scheuttinger will present an overview of the historical research, analysis, and treatments of 16 cast iron and wood upholstered benches originally from the House Chamber, 1859. His research has identified the principals involved in the design, fabrication, decoration, and installation of the benches as well as identifying an American interpretation of French designed "Florentine bronze". 5-5:45pm Reception sponsored by Peter Sepp, Sepp Leaf Products, New York 5:45-6:30pm Talks 6:30-7pm Tour of the Rotunda and viewing of frames and benches Due to security at the Capitol you *must register* by emailing the Guild wcg [at] washingtonconservationguild__org, with your legal name by Oct. 31, 2006.
