Known for their expertise, the British Museum Conservation Mounters
are concerned with the preservation of the Museum collections of
graphic art through specialist mounting. They work to deadline in a
busy, fully equipped studio. The scope of their work is exceptional,
and ranges from Old Master prints and drawings to modern art,
photographs, sketchbooks, Indian miniatures and other Oriental flat
format art on paper.

In this role, you will have the chance to work with the team as part
of the Department of Conservation, Documentation and Science. Under
the supervision of senior staff, you will mount and prepare works
for display and storage and contribute to the Museum's care of
collections programme.

You will need to have a professional qualification in paper
conservation and/or three years' experience in mounting works of art
on paper. In particular, you will have an understanding of the
various mounting styles and conservation mounting materials. A good
communicator and team player, you will ideally have some museum or
gallery experience.
