Conservation Officer (Small Objects) Department Of Industry National Museum of Wales Fixed Term Contract: 12 months Salary: UKP20,910 - UKP25,520 per annum We are seeking to appoint a conservation officer to work as part of the conservation team at the Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales Collections Centre at Nantgarw just north of Cardiff. The collection is a broad mix of objects, mostly from the 19th and 20th centuries, ranging from hand tools, oil lamps, and clothing to ship and railway models. The post-holder will primarily be involved with the conservation, restoration and preparation of small objects destined for display at the National Waterfront Museum Swansea, monitoring environmental conditions at the museum and conserving other items from the collections, as required. Candidates should hold a recognised conservation qualification, with experience of dealing with industrial items. Applicants with qualifications and experience in related fields, e.g. model making, will also be considered. The ability to speak Welsh, or the willingness to learn, is desirable.
