Subject: Call for papers--Conservation science
Conservation Science 2007 will take place on 10-11 May 2007, at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy. The Conference will open with a plenary session: From science laboratory to conservation practice. The discussion on what defines conservation science will be key to the programme, and the opening session will include several short, invited presentations. Papers are invited on the following topics: Planning and monitoring new conservation methods New trends for architectural heritage New, non-destructive techniques for analysis Polymers in cultural heritage--deterioration and preservation Abstracts of 500 words maximum, in English, should be sent to joyce.townsend [at] tate__org__uk for selection by the scientific committee, by 15 October 2006. Poster abstracts should be submitted by the later date of 30 October, though acceptance may be possible until 30 December, depending on the numbers received. It is intended to publish fully refereed postprints (Archetype) within 12 months of the conference. English will be the official language of the conference; Italian/English translation for the introductory session and discussion, and for the keynote papers, will be provided. The Politecnico of Milan is located in Milan and the Conference location is 15 minutes from downtown and main stations and 20 minutes from Linate Airport. Registration and an informal reception will take place on 9 May 2007, at the University of Milan at 6:30 pm. A post-conference conservation visit in the area is planned, in addition to a post-conference tour of the spring scenery round nearby Como Lake.
