Subject: Conservation principles--addendum
In addition to what I said earlier about Conservation Principles (Conservation DistList Instance: 20:11 Monday, August 28, 2006), I should add that the real task, the effort for which the result seems impossible, is to preserve without destroying. This was a point that Nathan Stolow pursued in a number of works, certainly expressed quite clearly in his Artscanada article in Feb. of 1969. Shortly after he edited a group of papers in a volume, Progress in Conservation, that delineated many questions with specific cases.
