Subject: Call for papers--AIC Wooden Artifacts Group
WAG Call for papers for the AIC meeting Richmond, VA April 16-20, 2007 This is a first call for papers for next year's Wooden Artifacts Group (WAG) session at the American Institute for Conservation (AIC) Annual Meeting. 'Fakes, Forgeries and Fabrications' is the theme for the General Sessions in 2007. Everyone should feel encouraged to submit abstracts related to the theme, but papers on other topics are welcome as well. A tip session will be scheduled if a sufficient number of people are willing to share their experiences. A few ideas for topics: Historical practices of forgers Connoisseurship or authentication methods by technique or material, such as toolmarks, hardware, etc Criminal investigation and prosecution The difference between fakes and reconstructions made by period cabinetmakers Replacing severely deteriorated modern 'design' furniture in a collection Please submit an abstract with a title, your name, professional title and association to the address below, *before* Sept 17, 2006. Presentations should be 20-25 minutes in length and will be published in the WAG Postprints.
