Subject: Call for papers--AIC Paintings Specialty Group
Call for papers Paintings Specialty Group Call AIC Annual Meeting April 2007 The Paintings Specialty Group of the American Institute for Conservation is calling for papers for the Annual Meeting, scheduled for April 2007. Due to the earlier scheduling of the Annual Meeting the deadline for titles and abstracts is September 1, 2006 We recognize that this deadline is very early and encourage people to consider submitting abstracts for work in progress. The theme of the Annual meeting will be Fakes, Forgeries, and Fabrications. Papers that fall under this subject will be welcome and organized into a focus session. Papers related to treatment projects, technical study and other subjects are also welcome. Presentations will be 25 minutes in length with an additional 5 minutes for questions. We are considering having a table discussion and would like to call for presenters. Possible themes include "Fakes and Forgeries that Have Entered Museum Collections" and "Observations regarding the demands of the public and the art market on conservation". Panel members are asked to present 5-10 minute papers on the subject of the panel discussion and then participate in the table discussion as well as discussion with members of the PSG. There will also be a lunchtime Tips Session. Proposals for the Tips Session are welcome at anytime before the meeting! Tips Session presentations are typically 3 minutes in length.
