Seven Stories <URL:http://www.sevenstories.org.uk> is the home of a
fast-growing, nationally important collection of manuscripts,
artwork and related archive material, by Britain's foremost writers
and illustrators for children.

Seven Stories, the Centre for Children's Books seeks a qualified
archives/paper conservator. You will play a key role in the
Storylines project--a major initiative to unlock the potential of
the Seven Stories collection of original artwork, manuscripts and
archives by British writers and illustrators for children, from the
1930s to the present day. The main responsibilities include:
preservation re-packaging of archives, artwork and manuscript
collections; mounting and preventative conservation of work for
display; environmental monitoring and control; participation in
education and outreach activities. You will be enthusiastic,
well-organised and self-motivated, with excellent communication and
IT skills. You will be sympathetic to the aims and ethos of Seven
Stories and will ideally have an interest in children's books.
Previous experience of working in museum/archives/library
conservation will be an advantage.

You will work as part of a small interdisciplinary team but will
also have access to support from the Conservator at the North East
Collections Care Framework.
