Conservation Fellowship in Paintings The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is seeking a full-time paintings conservation fellow for a 12-month period to participate in a pilot study of a group of works by Vassily Kandinsky. This project will include thorough technical examination and complete documentation of the materials and techniques of this group of paintings, as well as coordinating scientific analysis. In addition, the Fellowship may include other Museum related activities. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong proficiency in technical examination of paintings and an aptitude for the interpretation of scientific data; excellent conservation hand skills; and good interpersonal capabilities. Candidates should enjoy working with a team and have the ability to communicate well with a supervisor while working independently. The fellowship will commence as soon as September 2006. The stipend is $25,000 plus benefits. Candidates should be graduates of a recognized conservation training program or equivalent and be eligible to work in the United States.
