AOC Archaeology Group is presently seeking a senior conservator to
manage its conservation and artefact services.

AOC Archaeology Group is a commercial archaeology company employing
60 people working in archaeology, consultancy, palaeo-environmental
studies, and historic building recording. We have offices throughout
the UK, and full lab facilities in Edinburgh.

The post is based in our Edinburgh office with projects being
conducted throughout the United Kingdom. The main remit of the role
will be to manage the Conservation services of the Group.

Applicants should have held the responsibility for the
co-ordination, direction and completion of medium to large or
long-duration projects, and should have line managed designated
staff in a structured and professional manner.

Applicants should have a sound background within the specialist area
of conservation, with a minimum of 5 years experience of practical
aspects, including report writing. Experience of managing the
workload of a small team is essential. Experience of undertaking
successful tendering for medium to large scale projects and of
providing specialist advice to clients and colleagues is a
requirement of the post.  It is essential that you are a good team
member with a positive approach to commercial conservation, and to
be computer literate (experience of MS Word and Excel is essential;
Access desirable). A good publication record would be beneficial.

You will need to have an understanding and have worked with aspects
of business management and in particular budget setting, profit and
loss analysis, invoicing, you must be effective at delegating and
have a structured daily approach to your workload. You must also
have a proven track record as a leader within a sector.

Degree level qualifications in conservation or closely related
discipline, and a clean Drivers Licence are all essential. Secondary
specialisms or abilities would be advantageous, as would membership
to UKIC.
