The Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbuettel Germany is seeking to
appoint as soon as possible (subject to the release of funding)

(Salary IVb BAT)

Qualifications:

    Degree from a recognized graduate conservation training program,
    or equivalent formalized advanced training or relevant
    experience in book and paper conservation

    Long-standing hands-on experience, particularly in the handling
    of library materials

    Capacity for independent work and initiative

    Commitment to the job and ability to work in a team

    Familiarity with IT applications

    Willingness to pursue further vocational training

    Working knowledge of German and English is essential

Responsibilities:

    Preservation and conservation treatment of manuscripts, rare
    books and graphic art on paper from the Middle Ages to the
    present day

    Solving of particularly difficult conservation and preservation
    tasks and their documentation in written and visual records

    Co-operation in the installation of exhibitions
