Conservation Officer Collections Conservation and Care The Horniman Museum Salary up to UKP23,764 per annum Full-time permanent post The Horniman Museum, based in southeast London, is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic objects conservator to work in the Collections Conservation and Care Section. Over the next few years the work will concentrate on conserving and preparing objects for a new temporary exhibition on Music in India, a Japanese textile exhibition and the major refurbishment of the Natural History Gallery. The Collections Conservation and Care Section is responsible for the care of the Museum's collections of Anthropology, Musical Instruments and Natural History. The collections are used to illustrate the world we live in--our cultures, arts, crafts, music and natural environment. The Museum is set in sixteen acres of beautiful gardens in Forest Hill, South East London Applicants should have a minimum of two years' post qualification practical experience in the care, documentation and treatment of a wide-range of organic and inorganic materials, and objects in a museum environment.
