Assistant Paintings Conservator Conservation and Collections Management Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Working under the direction of the head paintings conservator and/or other senior conservation staff, the assistant conservator will undertake the treatment of a wide range of paintings from the Museum's comprehensive collections of American and European art in preparation for the new American wing and renovated European galleries due to open in 2010. Other duties may include assisting with technical examination of works, helping with exhibitions and loans and courier trips. The assistant conservator may be asked to contribute to research projects, lectures and articles. Strong hand skills and excellent written and communication skills are essential. Candidates must have a graduate degree in paintings conservation and at least one year of additional professional experience. This is a two-year term position, which will be renewed annually.
